New postcards

I made some postcards to give to people who might be interested to look up Edaith. The QR code is for the monthly transversal skills digest sign up. I regret not including the four transversal skills categories – from the Edaith Essential Skills Framework – in the design. I knew I would have a post-print idea or something of the sort, so I didn’t order many and something I can integrate next time.

Books delivered (minus catastrophe)

Last year when I had decided on the printer to engage for Problem Solver, I hesitated to place the order because I was worried about the logistics of getting the crate from the delivery truck to the kerbside where I needed it. I visualised the delivery driver scolding me for not having proper delivery facilities and then driving away with the shipment.

But I needed to make the order ASAP.

I searched online and found some forums that explained it’s OK to do kerbside delivery as long as the driver has a tailgate and a pallet jack. Then I contacted the shipping company the books might be delivered by and confirmed this was the case. They verified, so I made the order.

In the months after I envisioned other things going wrong. What if the driver didn’t have a pallet jack? What if there’s nowhere to park? What if the books arrive a week early from the estimated date when we’re overseas?...

The day came, and despite there being nowhere to park, the driver simply stopped in a Mail collection zone, lowered the crate down and wheeled it between two parked cars, closer than the space I had reserved. Job done in less than 5 minutes.

It was a good reminder to myself that there’s no point worrying about things that might happen and to focus on the those I can do right now.

What did happen was torrential downpours the very next day. And I hadn’t even considered preparing for the weather!

The Edaith Shop is open!

Naturally, as Problem Solver has arrived, I’m happy to say the Edaith Shop is now open!

Edaith Shop

You can now purchase Problem Solver exclusively at the Edaith Shop. Setting it up was far more involved than I expected (e.g. it took me four photo shoot attempts to get the lighting and camera settings right).

In addition to Australia, for the moment the book is available in selected countries by post while I establish the best service providers for global postage. Also, I’m eager to focus on getting the book into people’s hands in person here in Sydney in the first instance so that I can see the reactions and garner any feedback. All the design choices were made to create a premium product so it’s such a pleasure to see people pick it up and enjoy the tactile experience I imagined.

Lightning Problem Solving

I made a poster / single page PDF of the Lightning Problem Solving Framework developed for Problem Solver. It’s a free download for people that sign up to receive the monthly transversal skills digest.
